The cruise ship Nieuw Statendam of the Holland America Line visited Bonaire for the first time on 25th of January 2019. We got the water taxi and they dropped us off to drift snorkel to the beach! From the depths of our pristine waters to the height of our tallest peak, Brandaris, you will feel Bonaire's magic wash over you from the moment you arrive and throughout the days as you become attuned to Bonaire's unhurried pace. It was horrible!! Thankfully, the welts we received from the stings vanished in about 6 hours (we treated ourselves with vinegar when we finally did reach the beach). Kate B. Divers who had on wetsuits weren't bothered as much, but we snorkelers with lots of exposed skin had quite the time. The time around full moon is the mating period of the box jellyfish Tamoya Ohboya. Perfectly on time as well. It dropped off in spots to really deep areas - beautiful sights. Gorgeous crossing. This is the best snorkeling on Bonaire.

Unfortunately, when they dropped us all off, they were not aware they had just put all of us in the middle of a jellyfish swarm. Upside jellyfish at the canal around Courtyard Bonaire. Bonaire banded box jellyfish. We forgot something on the island and they let us go for free on the taxi the next day to pick it up again. For 2.5 hours he showed us many of the thousands of fish, turtles, corals and sponges. We were dropped off at an orange buoy and we snorkeled our way to the beach. Snorkeling heaven!Took the Epic Water Taxi service out to Klein Bonaire where we dropped off our things on the beach, took just our snorkel gear and were dropped off at the edge of the reef.
