The enemy in question, of course, is the Black Guardian of the title, who first appeared at the end of the Tom Baker Key To Time season. I end up watching all of these DVDs twice.

I have been waiting a long time to add Doctor Who black Guardian trilogy to my collection it's been well worth the wait this is a 4 Disc set the first show Mawdyn Undead followed by Terminus and finally Enlightenment which personally is my favorite though I like all three this basically picks up where the key to Time series during Tom Baker's ring left off the black Guardian who is only seen in the last few minutes of the very last episode of the series of 6 stories swore that he would one day make the doctor pay for denying him the key to time now he gets his chance in the first story the doctor gets a new companion Turlough whom the black Guardian uses to try to kill the doctor Once In For All as the stories go on however Turlough starts having second thoughts about his arrangement with the black Guardian but still wants to do his bidding particularly after the black Guardian makes it clear that he can destroy him too leading to the grand finale in enlightenment to wear Turlough has to make the ultimate decision weather to turn the doctor over the black Guardian in exchange for an extremely tempting prize or say no I won't spoil it for you I'll let you watch it yourself this is a superb DVD collection a must for any serious collector of the classic Doctor Who series it is loaded with extras from audio commentaries , edited scenes, interviews ,production notes you can even turn on an option that will replace the original special effects with modern CGI graphics.
