It was consistently good, and very listenable-- yet it was also diverse, with different sounds and styles represented.
Generally, "Stars" runs the razor between too raw and too canned, too youthful and too jaded, and therefore it succeeds-- both as music to be listened to directly and indirectly. Portofrei innerhalb Deutschlands Despite my above implication of further exploration, it's no more defiantly out-there than "An Index of Metals" -- which probably isn't anyone's favorite track from the 70s collaborations, but that still puts STARS within known bounds. This album sets my teeth on edge, and I am a big fan of electronic music, Space Music, World Music, and Jazz.

5 I normally prefer Fripp / Eno when they collaborate with different artists as in a way their approach seems a little similar so there are no real surprises sonically, not much tension and occasionally a little more noodling than I'd like.
