I have use it for tournament casting and it has a sweet spot of 6 and bait but it will throw anything up t o a 12 oz.I bought it and love it is light and tough great for big catfishI have 2 of the 12 footers.I have abu garcia CATFISH special 7000's on them.I have hauled in countless blue and flathead CATFISH with them 30 to 60 pounds with no problem.my biggest to date with the battalion is a 75 pound blue.these rods are amazing.I have comtrol OVER the cats with these.they are light and powerfull.I can cast wherever I want to.love them.I am very impressed with these rods.
